Understanding the NDIS
What is NDIS?
The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.
How to Apply:
If you think you are eligible for the NDIS you will be supported to apply by one of NDIS local area coordination or early childhood partners.
Your NDIS partner will talk to you about:
- Your situation.
- The NDIS eligibility criteria.
- The application process.
- The kinds of information and evidence you need to provide
- What to expect from the application process, including when you will know whether you are eligible for the NDIS.
Requirements you need to meet:
- younger than 65 when you apply
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- living in Australia
- able to meet the disability or early intervention requirements.
